While they’ve lowered the curtain at The Other Palace, the digital stage is set to bring the show online, hosting quality quarantine quizzing, panel discussions and innovative streamed theatre performances. Here’s how you can experience theatre at home:
The Last Five Years
Award-winning musical, The Last Five Years, is an emotionally powerful musical about two New Yorkers who fall in and out of love over the course of five years. Written by Tony Award-winning composer Jason Robert Brown, the play has seen numerous productions around the world including a film adaptation starring Pitch Perfect’s Anna Kendrick but it is now to be produced in an entirely new and innovative way.
It is the musical’s unconventional structure that is allowing this brand-new, highly innovative form of streamed theatre to be created. Jamie (Danny Becker) tells his story chronologically from their love-at-first-site meeting, whilst Cathy (Lauren Samuels) tells her story in reverse, from the end of their turbulent relationship to the start.
The Last Five Years is running from 25 – 27 June, Tickets cost £8 and go on sale Friday 5 June, 12pm
